THE ARTIST

Jonas Friis is a Danish figurative artist whose work explores intimacy, absence, and reunion. Drawing on his experiences as a sailor, he explores emotional tensions shaped by distance and connection, passion and boredom. He sees art as a human instinct – like dancing or warfare – technically demanding yet ultimately unpredictable, ridiculous and absurd.
